Qiniang Mountain rises 867 metres above the Dapeng Peninsula — Shenzhen's second-highest peak, and a serious climb in subtropical heat. In May 2018, a company team asked us to get them to the top. Our founder, Haifeng, led the climb himself.
Before anyone touched the trail, the group stretched. Then came the part most guides skip: technique. On the first climb section, Haifeng stopped the group to teach breathing rhythm — how to keep oxygen flowing on steep grades and avoid heat exhaustion. At the viewing platforms, a lesson in hydration: small sips, often, never chugging.
The group was split into small teams with chosen leaders, so nobody climbed alone and nobody got left behind. Rest stops were timed, not random. Step by step, a mixed-fitness group of office workers turned into an orderly mountain team.
Hours later, the whole team stood on the summit meadows above the clouds, flags out, arms in the air. No one had dropped out. That's not luck — that's method.
